Can Librax And Ganton Be Taken Together?
Question: Can librax and ganton be taken together?!
I have been prescribed librax and ganton together 1x2, along side with a proton inhibitor. I have read that librax decreases motility and ganton increases it, one by blocking acetylcholine receptors and the other by producing more I guess.
How true is this, and is it ok and safe to take those 2 together?

Librax is the standard of care for the treatment of GI motility disorders (like IBS) and provide symptomatic relief from cramping.This is its predominant action.It has little effect decreasing bowel motion which does not interfere much with Ganton's action.
Ganton acts primarily to relieve acidity by increasing bowel motility in synergy with proton pump inhibitor.They can be safely taken.Clinically donot have any drug interactions though they cause variation of acetylcholine levels.Suggest to take as per your MD's advice.

Zantac donot have interactions with Librax.It can be taken safely.Though it belongs to Cimetidine family, it is very safe and devoid of side effects which cimitidine normally has.I am sure you will not have any problems.
