Can Low Levels Of Iron Binding Capacity Cause Low Energy And Stamina?

You would be fine after investigations & specific treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Low iron binding capacity results in low iron percentage in blood &as haemoglobin is (a protein compound of iron).
Serum haemoglobin also reduces resulting in decreased oxygen carrying capacity of blood. Thus less iron is available for energy production. Making you fatigued earlier & stamina is decreased.
When the substance for iron binding capacity (ferritin) decreases body tends to increase production of ferritin. So your levels are normal.
*Causes for low iron binding capacity are varied ( liver problem, kidney problem, hyperthyroidism chronic diseases,&to complete the list thalassemia).
To treat the low iron binding capacity the basic cause needs to be found &treated efficiently.
*In this scenario you need to have a complete health check up &then get investigated for the cause found. This would allow treatment of basic cause.
For all of these, you need the consultation of an expert physician at a primary checkup stage followed by a reference to a gastroenterologist/endocrinologist & haematologist for specific guidance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

No suggestion of medicines/supplements. Till hematologists advise.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Red blood cells have iron which flows in blood with a protein haemoglobin. This haemoglobin can carry & impart oxygen at the tissue level.
By a complex process inclusive of a different enzyme like Transferase creating cooperativity & transfer oxygen to tissues.
So in short oxygen content of blood & it's supplied in the body is a complex process, The causes could be-
- Problems in the structure of RBCs
- the problem in complex exchange of oxygen at the tissue level
* So it's not possible to manage with the prescription of certain medications or nutritional supplement.
* It can be taken care of by finding &treating the basic cause (listed in the previous answer)
*Intermittent oxygen inhalation (as per expert advice) would help till you seek expert Hematologists advise.
He would suggest for needful advise of other specialities for treatment of basic cause.
Though a tough way a patient approach would find a solution.
Hope, you have understood the problem & would consult a Hematologist for more investigations & solution of your problem.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
