Can Low Testosterone Levels Lead To Weight Gain?

Question: Hello Doctors, i had some blood work done last week and all my numbers are good except for my testosterone level, 229, which i believe is low and can be the contributing factor as i why can not lose weight, i have no problem getting an erection however i do not sustain them. I lift weights twice a week along with cardio and i have seen a nutritionist to get my diet corrected.
do the benefits of TRT out weigh the risks, if not is there a safe natural way to increase my testosterone levels.
thx, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Testosterone to be corrected;
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Testosterone level is recommended to be maintained within the normal ranges, as a low testosterone level is considered a cardiovascular risk factor.
Before starting testosterone you should exclude cardiac pathologies ( a stress test is recommended).
Normal testosterone will help in improving cholesterol levels and lose weight.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
