Brief Answer:
Not really ,less likely to cause chest pain.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have read your query and your old CT reports.

It is less likely that lower back pain if not managed well will lead to chest pain.
First we need to rule out important and urgent causes of chest pain.
As per your symptoms cause can be cardiac related.
But at your age it is less likely.

You need to consult your treating doctor to rule out cause for chest pain.
After clinical examination by your treating doctor he may advise ECG or blood investigation or 2-D ECHO.
Another possibility due to compression of nerve root in spine there can be pain in your chest.
This can be related to smoking also.

I will advise you to do MRI thoracic spine, and EMG- NCV [nerve conduction study].

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.

Thank you for your answer. First of all i do not smoke. Again I have had this chest pain before and had all this work up before only for it to be nothing. or no cause found. EKG came back normal. I cannot have any MRI as I have metal implant (battery ) for my stimulator. I also have had the nerve conduction studies only to tell me that there is nothing wrong.

Thanks for you help! I was just looking to see if you thought maybe they were related. My pain level is very high. Some days better than others. The only thing that is making me comfortable is laying flat. I am on wait list to see neurosurgeon. Otherwise i have to wait two weeks.

Brief Answer:
Explained below

Detailed Answer:
Hello again

Thats good that many of your cardiac and nerve conduction tests are normal.

But since you said on lying flat there is pain relief, means pain may be aggravated due to movement/exertion/ or standing some times ,this origin of pain need to be ruled out by clinical examination and required test.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
