Question : Hi, I am a 57 year old woman and I have had a persistent , phlegm producing cough for about 10 days now, I take aspirin 100 mugs daily and ciprimil 60 mugs daily. The chemist has recommended Dry Tickly cough relief forte for the tickly throat I get which interrupts me sleeping. Can I take this medicine which has pholcodine in it with the medication I am on now ? Thanks .

Brief Answer:
Yes, if lung problems are excluded

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I was wondering which is the cause of the productive cough.

Usually we don't recommend suppressive medications for the cough with phlegm only for cough without secretion .

However, I am sure that your treating doctor knows your clinical situation better.

Yes, you can use them without any problem but not for a long time and if lung problems are excluded as the cause of this kind of cough.

Hope I have answered your query. Take care.
