Can Menstrual Bleeding Be Discontinued Through Medication?
Question: Hi i was taking norethindrone acetate tablets regestrone 5mg to delay my period before two days of my period date. One tablet after dinner. But i got my period while taking the 4th tablet with stomach pain as well and i am on mid of my holiday and i want to stop the period. Should i continue to take this tablet? Will it stop my period now? And why this tablet did not work for me? Should i change the doses?
Brief Answer:
You started the tablet late
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns about registerone not working for you.
Regesterone is a progesterone hormone medicine which should have been started atleast 5 days before expected periods. It didn't work for you as you started too late.
Dosage is good enough. You stop the medicine now as you have got periods.
You can't stop periods now. Wait for it to get over naturally.
Let me know if you need any more clarification.
