Can Milk Thistle Be Taken Along With Biovital Supplement?

Question: Hi,Iam taking supplements like Biovital daily for energy and vitality.
In order to improve liver function and improve digestion can i take milk thistle (Silymarin Milk Thistle) supplement
Kindly advise.

Yes milk thistle has been purported to have a role in limiting liver injury. However there is insufficient evidence till date to confirm this indication.
In some clinical trials its reported to have minimal side effects.
Such herbal remedies may have known or unknown side effects.

I have seen your reports. You have mild derangement of liver function. I recommend the following to improve liver function:

- Eating hygienic food and drinking cleaner water from reverse osmosis filter
- Avoid medicines that can damage liver like antibiotics and painkillers
- Syrup Liv 52 1 tbsp 2 times a day. This has been used in XXXXXXX for a very long time and is safe. You can easily get it at local XXXXXXX Grocery store

Hello Mam.

Thanks for your advise.Is there any thing of concern here.Iam taking Biovital and Betacap daily.Do these medications have side effects.

Also is it ok to take Liv 52 capsules instead of syrup.

Hi again

Biovital contains ginseng extract. Again its side effects are unclear.
Betacap is unlikely to cause any effect on liver. It does have other side effects like low pulse rate, low BP, lightheadedness, confusion, low sex drive, nausea, vomiting, diarhea, etc.

I personally like syrup Liv 52 but capsule should also be fine.

Hi again

Liv 52 is available in many formulations. It seems that capsule has different composition than syrup. Since I have never prescribed the capsule formulation, I cannot comment on its efficacy or side effects.

I would suggest that you take syrup or tablet form.
Syrup liv 52 is taken 1 tsp 2-3 times a day
Tablet liv 52 is taken 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.

These are to be taken half an hour before food.

1.Betacap 20 TR for stress/palpitations
2.telekast -f - for Allergic rhinitus
3.Biovital - Daily energy supplement.
