Can Obsession With Spankings And With Specific People Indicate Autism?
Information
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
You didn't write the age of your daughter, but what you are describing sounds more like obsessive personality, possibly as a feature of OCD, but that would require much more history and an exam to know further.
Asperger's has more to do with not being able to interpret social cues and body language and emotion. Again, though, it depends on the person's age. Sometimes children with Asperger's syndrome will be very occupied with and talk extensively about a specific subject. But it would require other aspects of social unawareness to be considered.
In genereral, people on the autism spectrum avoid eye contact or physical contact, but not always. Everyone is an individual and so there are no hard and fast rules except for generally not having social awareness.
Often people have more than one problem - there can be overlap in both categories.

It would be considered a feature of Asperger's obsession if she has many other features of Asperger's syndrome. Obsessiveness in itself is not diagnostic for Asperger's. There are other disorders (including OCD, schizophrenia, etc) where a person can have problems with obsessiveness.
