Can One Contract HIV From Receiving Oral Sex?

Very low risk but you may take a blood test for your mental peace
Detailed Answer:
hello. thank you for writing to us
I am Dr. Kakkar(dermatologist and venereologist).
I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
HIV is a very low risk with receptive oral sex from a female. Saliva is not infectious unless it is blood contaminated or if there are oral sores e.g with other associated oral STDs like herpes labialis. Protected vaginal sex is safe as far as risk of HIV is concerned.
Nevertheless you may still take a 4th generation HIV screening test i.e combination of P24 antigen and anti HIV antibody screening test, at 3-4 weeks as a confirmatory result. Since its already been 25 days since that incident therefore you may take this test now.
What was the HIV screening test that you underwent at 2 weeks?
Regards

This is my test report. And is the 4 weeks test can be a confirmtory result? And i want to know how low the risk of getting hiv from receving a oral sex
Regarding HIV screening test
Detailed Answer:
Thank you.
It is a 4th generation, Ag/ Ab screening test for HIV 1 &2, however 2 weeks is a bit too early for it to be conclusive. The window period for this test is 2-3 weeks and therefore this test is conclusive (detects 95% of HIV infected patients) if done at 3-4 weeks (ideally at 4 week and beyond).
Since at 4 weeks, a 4th generation Ag/Ab screening test detects HIV in all (95%) except a few infected patients therefore depending on the level of risk exposure it may be followed up by a retest at 3 months (12 weeks). At 3 months it is positive in 99.9% of HIV infected patients.
Since your exposure risk through oral sex is very low therefore at 4th week mark this test would be considered highly reliable. On the other hand, if it would have been a high risk exposure e.g unprotected vaginal or anal sex then I would have suggested you to screen at 4th week and then again at 12th week mark for a conclusive result.
