Welcome to HCM: Please note that you should have a say in the care of your medical conditions and really if you feel uncomfortable with a plan discuss it, bring it up, otherwise we are not doing you justice, please let him know that you will feel more comfortable to taper the medications and he should provide you a plan to do the same and appropriate followup and planing. in any event, what I would do is start taking 10mg daily for 2 weeks, then 10 mg every other day for 2 weeks then 7.5mg or 5mg every other day for 2 weeks. Please note that if what you have are extended release tablets, then these should not be cut, you will need to get the correct strengths from the chemist. I hope this helps
