Brief Answer:
Oxygen helps in maintaining a normal brain function.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for asking me directly.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

I have read your previous discussions at our page too.

Oxygen is given to maintain a normal oxygenation of brain and other tissues that may be impaired during or after a seizure.

Seizure is treated by drugs that may be intravenous ones ( several choices exist ) during the acute phase and by maintaining treatment with drugs such Carbamazepine, Levetiracetam, valproate etc. it depends on the seizure character and origin.

Additional fluids may be given if you have been dehydrated ( after several vomits for example ).

Headaches in your case may indicate the root of your problems that may be shunting malfunction that can cause seizures too, besides headaches.

In my opinion, it is necessary to get evaluated about shunt malfunctioning and shunting hardware inspection with imaging studies such MRI ( if the hardware is compatible with it ) or CT scan of the brain are needed for this purpose.

I suggest you to consult a Neurosurgeon about these issues.

The treatment depends on shunting functionality and may include shunt revision and/or replacement.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

I remain at your disposal for further questions and clarifications.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
This needs to be confirmed by your Neurosurgeon.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

Strata shunting valves ( from Medtronic I guess ), are generally MRI compatible, if the valve magnet programmable, to reprogram it after MRI is necessary.

However, these issues should be discussed with your Neurosurgeon.

Hope I helped you.

Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
MRI is possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

In this case, discuss with a Neurosurgeon about possibility of having a brain MRI done and about reprogramming the valve as indicated by MRI findings afterwards.

Greetings.
