Can Pep Within 24 H With Good Adherence In Case Of Insertive Penile To Vaginal Exposure ?
Question: I had one insertive penile to vaginal exposure to girl unkown status , in high risk country ( thialand )
I used condom but broken but broken last 2 min maximum , I asked her many times about her status she said not sick and I have 2 child
In same day 13 to 16 hours I started my PEP TLD
Now in 17 days on pep ( good adherence) with no side effects and no symptoms
I know my risk considered low risk but still I but my self in it
I just want to ask you dr , ( from your experience) :
- is there any case started pep within 24 h with good adherence and full 28 days , came back positive ?
- Did you see any case came back negative after 28 days pep course and after that became positive due to pep delay seroconversion ( in case of good adherence ) ?

Brief Answer:
Need not worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Broken condom and unknown status of thr partner does indicate risk.
The success of PEP is surely considerable.
In my experience, no I haven't come across a case positive after PEP.
Yes, there will be a few cases whoes seroconversion is delayed and have come positive later in time..But these are of very low incidence.
Hope, I answered your questions.
Regards,
