Can Periods May Be Delayed?

Question: Hi , so I’ve gotten on the Depo birth control shot January 12th. It is now March 13th, my period was supposed to come on March 5th. I’ve been sexually actively ever since. I’m also having mild cramps
Brief Answer:
Pregnancy is not likely. Periods may be delayed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
After the Depo shot it is normal to have missing periods for 1-2 months. The periods can be delayed and there may be only spotting instead of a full flow. This is normal for Depo. Pregnancy is not likely for 3 months after the shot. To be very sure you can do urine for pregnancy tests using a home pregnancy test kit.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow-up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to impending periods.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The cramps that you are having can be related to impending periods or mild indigestion or constipation. This can improve by taking mild anti spasmodic pain killer available over the counter.
