Can Psoriatic Arthritis Go Into Full Remission?

Question: Can psoriatic arthritis go into full remission? I have had dactylitis in 1 finger in January 2017 after breaking up from my relationship and being extremely sad and stressed. It went away after a mo nth. Then i developed dactylitis in 3 fingers in December 2017 for around a month. Doctor said psoriatic arthritis (no psoriasis just dermatitis in scalp). Since then i never developed any more symptoms ( 3.5 years passed). Is it possible that it is gone for good? Do you see that in your patients at all? Thank you!

Hi there
I am sorry to hear that. Hope you are keeping well and safe. Usually Psoriatic arthritis being an autoimmune disorder can never be cured. Remission is possible but it’s never acknowledged as that. It referred to as low activity arthritis that can flare up anytime. You can do blood tests to find out the disease activity at present. I have seen flare ups in patients at various durations. Sometimes during stress you can have a flare up. We will have a better picture once you get your tests once you discuss with your Rheumatologist.
I hope I have answered your query.
