Question: My wife is on 4th month of pregnancy. She has cold and cough. Can she use Montek LC tablet. If possible can you suggest a syrup for cough which is safe during pregnancy.

Thanks for the query,
Firstly, if your wife has cold and cough and as she is pregnant, it is important that things should not be taken lightly in this covid era. MONTEK-LC is basically an antihistaminic and can be taken as a single dose for symptomatic relief, but it is recommended that she should get her covid test done as well if cough is accompanied with mild fever and generalised body ache as well. Ideally during pregnancy no cough syrup is advised and only plain water steam inhalation and saline warm water gargles are recommended twice a day.
