Can Shingles Infection Affect The Groin Area?
Question: Can Shingles be in the groin area
Brief Answer:
Less common but possible
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome. It is less common for shingles to occur in groin areas but it is possible. However, some other skin issue should be considered such as genital herpes, hpv ,molluscum or bacterial std infections. If there was recentw sexual intercourse you should definitely do std testing. Hpv would manifest with warts around genital organs and molluscum with small fluid filled vesicles. Also, shingles like rashes can be seen in allergic reactions to underwear or shampoos. It would be easier for me to comment if there is attached photo of this skin change.Wish you good health.Regards
