Question: Hello
I'm a 20 year old girl and seem to being sick regularly and randomly. I have always had a bad gag reflex and felt sick around certain smells etc but recently it has got worse, I sometimes get sick when excited near Xmas or birthdays or holiday.
It started when I started smoking about 4 years ago, is there a chance I am allergic to cigerettess and is there such a thing where you are sick when excited?
It can be at any time of the day at all.
I'm not pregnant as recently had a period and also have the implant
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Anxiety, staying hungry and smoking cigarettes having drugs can cause it

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Your symptoms are most likely from anxiety associated with events including birthday parties and festivals like Christmas. This happens in anticipation of the situation surrounding the celebrations and being hungry predisposes to symptoms like having gag reflex, unpleasant feelings in the abdomen and thoughts of throwing up or vomiting.

2. Some smells can cause the nausea which increases the feeling of discomfort in you.

3. If you are smoking cigarettes for a few years then it is unlikely to contribute to these symptoms. However if there is any drug which is there in the cigarettes during celebrations which are smoked by you then it can cause such symptoms. Please be careful in not smoking cigarettes offered by others during or before celebrations.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
