Question: hi doc my daughter is 4 months now.her paed has asked me to introduce solids to her like juices n fruits .she said if i delay the process then my baby will not accept solids.her weight is 6.5 kg
Brief Answer:
Please do not add solids till 6 months
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Please do not add solids and other feeds other than breast milk till 6 months of age.
This is not my recommendation - it is WHO - World Health Organization's recommendation, please.
The early introduction may lead to diarrhea and malabsorption in the tender gut.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

paed has asked to introduce fruits n juices
Brief Answer:
Suggestions on baby feeding
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
No, please. No need to introduce them. These contain high fructose content which can cause osmotic diarrhea.
This is the reason why I am telling you not to introduce you anything.
Moreover the baby's gut may not be mature enough to tolerate these apart from mother's breast milk.
Hope I have answered your query.
