1. Yes, a small dressing needs to be done to cover the wound for at least a week.
2. Mupirocin ointment or any antibacterial cream would suffice.
3. If you are not willing to get the suturing done, at least get an adhesive plaster put over the wound in order to approximate the edges. This will help in healing faster.
