Can Swelling And Inflammation Around Both Psoas Muscles After Soft Tissue Manipulation Post Injury Be Treated And Completely Healed?
Question: Hi, can I answer your health question? Please type your question here...I have had a major injury to my psoas for 18 month, and due to delayed diagnosis it healed in a strange position. I was doing well under a chiropractor and a soft tissue expert and was getting on a lot better. But four weeks ago, I had some very harsh soft tissue manipulation on both my psoas and four weeks later, all of the muscles in my two psoas muscles and most abdominal muscles have been swollen and inflamed. I look eight months pregnant. How can I get the pain and swelling down? I have taken some oral steroids for a week and this hasn’t helped much
Brief Answer:
Continue with soft tissue specialist.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You can take any anti-inflammatory drugs such as Naproxen or Advil to reduce inflammation. It is good to continue the physical therapy with your soft tissue specialist and also under supervision of your doctor. Also, the osteopathic doctor should train you to continue stretching at home. Maybe corticosteroid injection is needed at the injury site.
Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
