Can The Damp Bandage Be Changed 9 Days After A Carpal Tunnel Surgery?

Question: 9 days ago I had carpal tunnel surgery and I was told to keep the bandage on until followup appointment. With the warm weather I've noticed now it feels damp inside. Can I remove it and put a gauze pad on the stitches and put a wrist splint on?
Brief Answer:
Yes , change the dressing
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. With 9 days of surgery past, and warm weather, damp bandage should be replaced with another fresh one or you may keep it open now as well. Prefer a surgical dressing which are pro self adherent easy to apply like Mepore dressing. It takes 14 days to remove the stitches which you may request any one nearby even with out follow up. Carpal tunnel release is very minor procedure, my mum had it too, so i can reassure you there is nothing to worry about. Go for it. Change the dressing.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
