Can The Size Of A Testicle Be Different Than It

Question: Can the size of a testicle be different than it feels? My right testicle has always felt a lot bigger than the left in all directions. I had an ultrasound done, which found that they are the same height. It felt like the test examiner didn't quiet go down all the way to the bottom of the testicle though - like she stopped about 90% down and might have missed part of the bottom but she told me the result showed the whole testicle. Before the ultrasound, I tried measuring the heights of both and I thought the left was about 4 cm and the right about 6 cm. Somehow, the result says both are 4.9 cm. Is it just that I'm not feeling them correctly? Or does it sound like her test missed part of the right testicle? Here is the full result:

CLINICAL HISTORY:



Testicular swelling.



COMPARISON: None.



FINDINGS:



Sonographic evaluation of the scrotum is performed with grayscale and

color imaging.



The right testicle is homogeneous and normal at 4.9 x 2.4 x 3 cm the

left testicle is also homogeneous and normal at 4.9 x 2.1 x 2 cm.

Normal blood flow to both testicles is identified without definite

intratesticular mass lesion or torsion. The



The epididymal region appears normal bilaterally with normal blood

flow. There is no epididymal mass or hyperemic flow.



There is no hydrocele, varicocele or hernia appreciated.



Impression

Unremarkable scrotal ultrasound as above.

I'm wondering if the right testicle is longer than 4.9 cm and the ultrasound didn't see the full testicle. Would the ultrasound technician and radiologist definitely know if the test missed the bottom part of the testicle? Would they make sure they can see the entire testicle before writing the report? It just seems hard for me to believe that both the left and right are the same length.
