Brief Answer:
Best time is scan at 20 weeks

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Mr XXXXXXX

Being a Pediatric Surgeon I deal with management of intesex disorders , right term being Disorders of sexual differentiation(DSD). There are many types of interest disorders. Alone by Ultrasound it is difficult to rule out DSD.
The best time is around 20 weeks of scan, if there is any suspicion of DSD, it is confirmed by Amniocentesis and Karyotyping(Chromosomal study).

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

I m currently 34 weeks and defiantly I had a scan at 20 weeks
The radiologist or doctor never said anything
I had level 1 and level 2 along with quad test all normal
Just trying to know what are the chances ?

Answered by Dr. Deepak Kishore Kaltari (4 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Unlikely there could be DSD

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mr XXXXXXX

Quad test is not for detecting DSD disorders. It is indicator of other chromosomal anomaly like Down Syndrome, Trisomy etc.
Fetal anamoly scan done at 20 weeks is very much accurate, then the chance of having fetal anomaly are less likely .

It would be helpful if you could mention why are you concerned about DSD?
Was there any intake of Progeterone in 1st trimester?

Brief Answer:
No need to worry about DSD

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear XXXXXXX

It will not cause any harm. A normal USG at 20 weeks is very reassuring and there is no cause for concern.
So do not be worried about DSD.
Do let me know the good news of healthy baby.
