Brief Answer:
Less effective, completely ineffective and even risky after the 14th day

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. The humira pen (active ingredients adalimumab) can be stored at room temperature outside the refrigerator, but should not be exposed to sunlight or other forms of light. If it is exposed to light the shot will not be viable anymore.

Once the humira pen is removed from the refrigerator and is kept at room temperature it has to be used within a duration of 14 days, even if it is returned to the refrigerator in some time.

If it is used after the 14 day duration it will be less effective, or completely ineffective, and can even cause anaphylaxis reactions in some, and thus needs to be avoided completely.

Do not react to what the pharmacist says, there is a certain way to help explain things to others, instead of laughing if she did his job by educating people who need the information, it would make life so much simpler for so many people, so just ignore her.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Sorry for the delayed response sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

Anaphylaxis is a serious at times life-threatening allergic reaction to a substance, yes it can be fatal sir.

"I took the shot on the feb 11 next shot would be the 25 of feb would it still be good that 1 shot ?? I talked to the humerus people and they said yes second discard that away the second shot I take march 11 what do u think "

So from what I understand you took the shots out of the refrigerator on the 11th of Feb, and the next shot is on the 25th of Feb. This second shot is fine to take, but any shots after that should be discarded as it would have been more than 14 days since you took all the shots out of the refrigerator.

Sure sir, take a photo and send it to me, but it seems like the 25th Feb shot would be fine to take as it would have been 14 days since you took it out of the refrigerator and that is fine according to me.

No issue if the ice comes in contact with the pen sir, nothing to worry about there.

No no, it will not result in anaphylaxis.

Even if it is at room temperature, it is fine, it need not be cold, but once it has reached room temperature it has to be used within 14 days, that is all.

If it is exposed to direct sunlight, it can lose its viability.

Yes, it is fine, I concur sir.

That is fine then sir.

Hope this helps sir. :)

Do not think twice before writing to me okay? I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
The humira looks perfectly fine sir, don't worry, no HIV risk either

Detailed Answer:
hi sir.

No problem if the ice has melted, as I mentioned earlier, once it has been exposed to room temperature, then it has to be used within a duration of 14 days, thats all.

I am sure water will not seep in sir, and from the photo it looks well preserved sir.

No problem sir, just make sure you take the shot within the 14 day duration, if the remaining shots are to be taken after the 14 day duration then it would be best to discard them.

If the item was on the ground and did not pierce into your skin there can be no transmission at all, and I am sure the exposure you had carries a 0 % risk for transmission of HIV.

Don't worry sir, I am sure you are perfectly fine.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
I have explained the chances of HIV transmission, they are non-existent

Detailed Answer:
Hi sir.

The risk for transmission of sharp object infected with the blood of a HIV-positive individual is 0.3 %, which in itself is a very low number, and has a close to negligible risk for transmission.

Even if the object was sharp and was blood stained by a HIV-positive individual, the virus in the blood cannot last in the exposed environment for long and dies soon after being exposed to the environment and thus cannot transmit the infection.

Even if the virus lasted and survived, how can we be sure the person whose blood it was, had HIV?

So in my opinion, there is absolutely no risk for you to worry about sir, the chances are close to non-existent.

And I am sure you would remember if you bled, it is a common reaction of the human body to remember an injury where a bleed has taken place.

I did not understand your last question? Please reiterate.

Thank you :)

Brief Answer:
You need not worry about anaphylaxis as you are taking it within 14 days

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I do not think you need to worry about anaphylaxis if you have followed all the rules, and have not taken the shot after the 14 day period sir, so you need not worry about anaphylaxis at all sir.

Brief Answer:
If it has not been exposed to room temp, then no harm sir

Detailed Answer:
If the shot to be taken on the 11th of March, and has not been taken out of the cooling area, then there is no risk in taking it at all sir.

Yes, but this is only in extreme cases, like if a shot that should not be taken after 14 days is taking after 1-2 months, then it could lead to anaphylaxis.

If this shot has not been exposed to room temperature, then there is no harm in taking it on the 11th of march sir.

Best wishes.
