Can You Confirm About Tonsil?

default
Posted on Thu, 15 Feb 2024
Question: Hi as i got to know this circle part on tonsil is tonsil fold but i am not sure what is it?

I have no pain and no problem in swallowing but my concern is that it is only on the right side tonsil area and the other left side is plain no tonsil fold like this.

I am attaching my picture with circled.

So please confirm is it tonsils cyst or tonsil stone in it or it is tonsil fold?

And why i have this only on right side of it why I don’t have on the left side of tonsil.

Thank you
Regards,
doctor

Brief Answer:
Just the tonsil

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I read your question and reviewed the photo you uploaded.

What you have marked in the photo it is the tonsil itself. It is quite common and normal that tonsils are different in size and shape from each other. This is due to infections in the past which has affected the tonsillar tissue differently.

If it doesn't bother you, no need to worry about it.

Hope this is helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards.
