Can You Have A Blood Clot With Normal Ddimer? Or

Please see the detailed answer below.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for the query. I can understand your concern. A D-dimer test is a blood test that can be used to help rule out the presence of a blood clot.
Different labs may do the test diffently, so keep in mind that what's normal can vary. If your result is negative, you most likely don't have a problem with blood clots like deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE) etc.
If your result is high, it indicates you should undergo further investigations to see whether you have a blood clot. D-dimer test can't confirm that you have DVT or PE. It can only help rule out them.
It is important to know that you can also get a high result for reasons other than a blood clot like infection, liver disease, some cancers etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
