Question: Hi, I had an ultrasound done today and I’m wondering if any subchorionic hematoma can be visualized? They did not tell me if I have any but I’m wondering what the black is in this ultrasound. This is what the note was from my previous ultrasound but the doctor today didn’t comment on any: There is a subchorionic hematoma adjacent on the right of the gestational sac measuring 2.55 x 1.07 x 2.54 cm and there is a posterior hypoechogenic area measuring .76 x
.84 x .48 cm, most likely representing a small bleed.

Brief Answer:
It could be due to hormonal imbalance

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting us about your health care.
I have gone through your history and reports and understand your concerns.
Your reports are suggestive of subchorionic hematoma and small bleed in your ultrasound.
It is due to placental leak, nothing to be worried about it, it will absorb automatically.
You have to take proper rest and avoid any physical activity and sex to avoid bleeding.
You can take progesterone as well to support pregnancy.
Placental lakes are not visible ( in my opinion, but I am not a radiologist, you can take radiologist opinion),but if they are there only causes problems when they are very big in size and affect baby growth.
Drink a lot of warm water and soft diet and lifestyle changes are required in your case.
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck

Thank you. Does the hematoma look to be to the left area of the baby or is it directly underneath baby? Trying to determine where the hematoma is.
