Can You Read My Echocardiogram Report ?
Question: Hi, I would like someone to read my echocardiogram report and tell me if I should be concerned.
Brief Answer:
Hello,
Detailed Answer:
I have gone through your echo report and I would like to tell you that your echocardiogram report shows a structurally and functionally normal heart.
Some age related changes are there which appears to be physiological and not related to any disease process.
There is nothing concerning.
Thanks

So I am not in Stage 1 heart failure??
Brief Answer:
Hello again
Detailed Answer:
Grade I diastolic dysfunction signifies impaired LV relaxation after the contraction phase of the cardiac cycle is over. It generally happens over time with aging. It’s not heart failure per se.
Other risk factors which might contribute towards the development of GR I DD are:
1. Tobacco and alcohol consumption
2. Lack of adequate sleep
3. High blood pressure and cholesterol levels
4. Lack of physical activity (daily exercise routine)
Also lymes disease can affect heart in the form of Lyme carditis. Although in majority of patients it affects the heart electrical pathways but in some (very few) it can also cause myocardial fibrosis.
Thanks
