Can You Suggest An Alternative Insulin Which I Can Try Instead Of Human Mixtard 30/70?
Insulin doesn’t cause ankle edema.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Insulin does not cause ankle edema and gastritis. As per the reports attached you are having hypertension for several years, hypertension itself and antihypertensives like Amlodipine (Amlodac) can cause ankle edema and it has got nothing to do with insulin.
Insulin doesn’t cause gastritis also. It might be due to other drugs. You can take pantoprazole or Omeprazole to tackle gastritis.
If you can’t tolerate your current insulin, you can switch to another brand like humilinR or novaR.
These are all prescription drugs and you need to visit your physician in order to obtain proper prescriptions for the same.
You can also try insulin pen and it’s more convenient.
Thanks
As an alternative you have suggested humilinR but is it not same as human mixtard? and would the dosage be same for both that is human mixtard and humilinR
Edema is not a common side effect of insulin.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up.
I’m of the opinion that amlodac is the main culprit of edema. Ankle edema is very common side effect of amlodac.
Humulin is same composition but different brand. Same dose has to be followed.
You can change amlodac to other anti hypertensives and look whether any change in edema or not.
