Question: I have had on/off again ear infections or swimmers ear for decades. I have inner ear eczema and sometimes the amount I scratch with finger in deep or qtip can trigger infection or swimmer ear. In January I got covid. I also got an ear infection. They gave me drops. Still bothering me- muffled sounds, ringing, creaking noises and feeling of fullness so I went back to PCP and he confirmed left ear had a lot of eczema, an infection and fluid. The right ear had fluid and a tilt? Maybe the tube? He gave me Amoxicillin(oral pill), Nasocort and more drops. He said I could add on zyrtec. (Had a successful cardiac ablation for afib in 2021 so I try to stay away from decongestents but the cardiologist said a short run would be fine but I am too paranoid). I was worried about accoustic neuroma or brain tumor but he said the CT scan I had on my face 7 months ago for a deviated septum would have shown that as it cuts into ear. Obviously I have health anxiety. Can you think of anything else to do? I had a hearing test last year and it was normal for 53 year old.
