Child Had Runny Nose And Cough, Given Sinarest And Ambrodil. Cold Is Under Control But Has Loose Motion

Question: HI my baby had running nose a bit cough, for which the doctor gave her sinarest and ambrodil-s for 5 days. After 5 days though cold is under control, now she has loose motion, which she passes 6/7 times a day. She is suffering from losse motion for last 2 days. The stool is watery of yellow color and occasionally of dark green color . Now she is on nestum, mothers milk and sometime pomogrante juice. Is every thing fine of we need consult doctor?

Hi,

Regarding your baby , loose stools after cold episode is common and the whole illness is due to virus.

For watery stools only thing you have to do is to continue breast feeds,stop pomegranate or any other juices,give plenty of. Electral solution as described in the sachet( one big packet in 1 litre of boiled cooled water ) frequently.
Check whether she is passing urine normally in good amount.
Check whether she is playing and active

Then you need not worry and can wait for 2 days.
This diarrhoea will take some time to improve .

Meanwhile if she gets tired ,then go to the doctor.

You may also give some zinc suspension. If diarrhea continues for more than 2 days.
