Child Has Anal Itching. How To Avoid This?

Question: I have a question, it is for my daughter she is 3.5 years, she complains of Itchiness at the place of motion, I feel it is due to worms. How to avoid this further?
Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
I think you are right in diagnosing that your child has a worm infestation.
Please deworm your child at the earliest.
Kindly use any Albendazole syrup (400mg) like Zentel.
10 ml should be given today and a similar dose should be repeated after 14 days.
It the areas itches very badly then use a cream like sucral ano at the local area.
Cut her nails regularly and prevent her from putting her hand in her mouth.
If you have any older children deworm them at the same time.
If you have any further queries you are free to consult me.
Hope this answers your query.Wishing your child a speedy recovery.
Have a nice day.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply doctor.
We will follow as per your instruction.
Should this deworming be done on a regular basis?

Hi,
Thank you,
Deworming should only be done when the child develops symptoms like this.
Regular deworming is usually not warranted.
