Child Has Pale Pink Lips. Is This Normal?
Paleness of the mouth and/or mucous membranes (tongue, eyes) can be indicative for anemia.
Anemia is low red cell mass or specifically low haemoglobin which is responsible for carrying oxygen to the various issues in the body. There are different types and causes, it is identified by a blood test which would demonstrate the low haemoglobin, it would also provide information on the type and potential causes.
There can also be temporary paleness, if a person has a shock, is scared or alarmed, ill, there is activation of part of the nervous system that causes temporary restriction of blood flow.
If it resolves, then it is unlikely anything to be concerned about. If it remains then you may want to consider having a full blood count to check the haemoglobin level and other parameters.
i hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
