Child Having Yellow Type Bowel Movement. Feeling Tired And Not Taking Food Properly. Could I Ask A Doctor?

Question: Hi, my 2and a half year old boy has had pale cream/yellow type bowel movements for a couple of days. He seems more tired than usual and isn't eating a lot. First thing in the morning is when he seems to have an appetite. Other than that he may eat one or two mouthfuls of food but that's it. He also isn't himself and has less energy than normal. His appetite has been low for a couple of weeks and now I'm starting to be concerned. Does this sound like a virus or should I take him to the doctor or see what his next bowel movement is like. He has had a pale movement before about 6mths ago but returned to normal next one so I didn't worry about it.

Hi
Do not worry.
It is usually a viral infection which results in such stool output.
Try giving him oral rehydration electrolyte solution and yoghurt which is XXXXXXX in probiotics.
I usually prescribe zinc drops at 20 mg once daily for 10 days which is recommended worldwide too to help in Healing and it prevents recurrence of such episodes.
If the stools persist to be pale you may need to consult your doctor.
Hope I answered your query.
Wishing your kid speedy recovery.
