Contraception Tore During Sex. Took Emergency Pill. Have Stomach Ache. Can I Be Pregnant?

default
Posted on Sat, 19 Oct 2013
Question: Hi
While having intercourse on Sept 8th, 2013, the contraception tore off. But my husband did not ejaculate inside me. As a precaution, I took an emergency pill next day. I had a normal period from Sept 20th-Sept 23rd, 2013. My last month period was August 19th-22th. Now since yesterday I have a stomach ache - I cannot point any particular place. I am not experiencing any other change - no nausea, no sore breasts, no weight gain, no change in appetite etc. Can I be pregnant? If not what can be other reason of stomach ache. I did not eat out in last 2-3 days.

Thanks

Acidity

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

I have read your query & I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) It is unlikely to be pregnancy. Dont worry.

2) It appears to be simple gastritis (acidity). Please take antacid medications which will make you feel better.

I hope I answered your query. I will be available for any followup queries you have.

Thanks. Can you please suggest any antacid?
Also, are you sure it cannot be pregnancy? Can this also be because of the pill?

Are there any other symptoms that I should look for?

Brief Answer:
Cant prescribe online

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You need not look for any other signs. It is unlikely to be because of pills.

I cant prescribe online as per policy of healthcare magic. Please visit any pharmacy near your home who can give you medicine.

No problem. Thanks for answering. Sorry to drag this but I want to be sure of not being pregnant. It is "unlikely" or is it "sure" that I am not pregnant.

Brief Answer:
Serum beta hCG for 100% accuracy

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Based on your history and clinical symptoms it appears unlikely to almost sure. But in absence of blood tests we can never say hundred percent in medicine.

If you want to be very very sure, please get serum beta hCG blood test done. This helps in detecting slightest pregnancy if its there.

I hope you are pretty clear now.
