Question: Cough, in upper chest. Slightly dizzy. mild nausea. (different from a head cold cough). Temp circling around normal, at the moment chills and97.8

cough is productive of yellowish phlegm. generally not more frequent that every 30-45 minutes.

Stopped smoking 40 + years ago

once the dog was gone & house vacuumed. cough was a bit less frequent. But it is not gone. started monitoring temp. Results as above.
Now Im aching in body, less than in head.

I think you may be suffering bronchitis since you have yellow phlegm that isn't getting better after three days of benadryl. It is good that the temperature is normal.
A doctor should listen to your lungs before saying what it may be.
If it is acute bronchitis you may need to take antibiotics and also may use guaiphenesine or mucolytics to help get out the secretions.
Also remember to do steamy breathing.
