magnesium has nothing to do with your symptoms. Your symptoms are probably due to a urinary tract infection. A urinalysis may help with the diagnosis. If the symptoms get better very soon after taking antibiotics then I would suggest no further investigation. Otherwise a radiological assessment of your urinary tract (including the kidneys) would be recommended.
