Could I Improve Elevated MCV And Mild Red Cell Deficiency Results Without Giving Up Alcohol Completely?

Question: I had a blood test result (June 2018) of RBC 3.96 mill/cumm , MCV 101.4 fl, MCH 34.2pg and a blood test result of RBC 4.00, MCV 101, MCH 33 (February 2018).
I eat a healthy low carb diet (plenty of protein/fat). I am in normal weight limits. I do drink daily 2-5 units. If I reduce alcohol 50% (with 3-4 days without alcohol) would that possibly help? Could I improve these results without giving up alcohol completely? I am a healthy weight 49 year old active female. Are these values a concern? And what else can I do to correct these results? How long should they take to improve?

Brief Answer:
Hello. Moderate your alcohol
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the reports. So you have a mild degree of red cell deficiency and marginally elevated MCV. This could be due to your alcohol intake.
Alcoholism leads to mild degree of vitamin b12 deficiency also and this an cause high mcv.
I will suggest you to moderate your alcohol to no more than 20 ml daily.
More over, get iron studies and serum ferritin done so that i can add more supplements depending upon the results.
Thanks and regards
