Could I Take Cialis Or Viagra For ED While On Metoprolol, Simvastatin, Allopurinol, Clopidogrel And Losartan?
Question: I want to start an ED drug. My main issue is premature ejaculation and I read that both Cialis and Viagra have possibilities in that area. I have checked the drug interaction and find that Viagra has a severe possibility of interaction with Viagra. I am 78 and have Stage 3 kidney disease and had a heart bypass four years ago. I exercise, eat healthy and otherwise maintain stability in my health problems. I take metoprolol, simvastatin, allopurinol, clopidogrel and losartan, all at the lowest doses and cut the metoprolol into 12 mg doses.
I meant severe interaction with Simvastatin
I meant severe interaction with Simvastatin
Brief Answer:
can be used, need to monitor your blood pressure
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As you stated, there is an interaction between Viagra and simvastatin and the two cannot be used together.
Cialis may slightly increase the effect of losartan and metoprolol according to medscape professional drug interaction checker. This would mean that you would need to monitor your blood pressure.
It is possible that the effect/interaction may not be significant.
You can use it and monitor.
You should let your doctor know that you are using it.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
