Question: I had a baby 14 weeks ago. I got my first menstrual period 8 weeks post baby. I have been bleeding everyday since. I have had significant weight gain and I'm not eating barely anything, extreme fatigue, knee pain and feeling generally unwell and nauseated.

Brief Answer:
Needs consultation

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

It is not recommended for women to wait for bleeding for weeks post delivery. During lactation, there is high chance of hemoglobin dropping down due to nutrients getting channeled to the baby. In such cases, if there is heavy or long-term uterine bleeding, it can further worsen the risk of developing anemia.

I strongly recommend you to attend the ER and get evaluated for anemia. The bleeding may be due to hormonal imbalance which is very common during lactation.

Hope, I answered your query. Wish you good health.

Regards
