Question: Hello, I was in the emergency room on Saturday for dizziness. They did a CT of my head which was normal and also some blood work which was normal (troponin <0.035. However my EKG showed a heightened T wave but my potassium was 4.7. Also my BNP was 195 which was a little elevated. what do you think could cause the T wave increase from my previous EKG. I have a histroy of A Fib and hypertension. My meds are cardizem 120 and Troprol 50 and Coumadin 1 mg all daily. I was just switched from Tenormin 50 to Toprol 50 3 weeks ago due to non availability of tenormin.

You should know that T wave inversion is quite common during atrial fibrillation.

It may also be related to a strain pattern related to arterial hypertension.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
