Could Handling Enalapril Medicine For My Dog When I Am Pregnant Harm My Baby?
Question: I have been handling enalapril for my dog, splitting pills in half and putting them in pill pouches. I am 12 weeks pregnant and just thought about checking to see if this drug is dangerous. is it likely that I absorbed this drug through my skin or inhaled it when breaking pills and have caused harm to my baby?
Brief Answer:
Not likely
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Enalapril is not safe to use during pregnancy but harm is not expected the way you handled it. This is not expected to enter your circulation through the skin, particularly with this kind of contact, or be inhaled and even if a very small portion of it would, its quantity would have probably been negligible.
I hope I've answered your question! Please let me know if you need further assistance.
