Brief Answer:
Can be a kidney issue, not related to diet changes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read your query and here is my advise.
The elevated protein in urine may indicate a kidney disease.
It isn't much related to malnourishment.
You may need to do some blood tests, an ultrasound or CT scan of the kidneys.
Also you may need to keep diabetes and hypertension under control.
Gaining weight can't lead to protein in urine so you should get your kidneys evaluated.ap
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.
