Could It Be Possible That I Don't Have RA Even Though The Report Is Positive?
Question: Hello Doctor,
Good Afternoon.
I have been troubling with severe tiredness (even without working much) and pain in the lower part of the leg including knee (with some tenderness).
Initially I thought there is some health problem, and I had undergone preventive health checkup and everything turned out positive and general physician advised to take Calcium and multi vitamin tables for a month duration. But the above said problems did not cure.
So I visited a Orthopedic doctor, and undergone different blood tests (CRP, CPK, RA Factor, ANA, ESR, G6PD and anti CCP), everything turned out negative except RA Factor. Below are the test result values, also attached the reports for your reference.
CCP 2.2
CPK 132
RA Factor 18.9
ANA Negative
Ancti CCP Negative
G6PD 17
ESR 6
Medicines taking
HCQS 200 Daily one in the morning
SAAZ 500 mg Daily one in the night
With any one probiotics from below in the afternoon
(Sporlac, Folinical, one cap gold, Flitrex, Velgut)
Out of curiosity, I did some googling on RA, RA has more symptoms like, Red skin rashes, tight joints, swallow at joints and dis shaped fingers for hands or legs, but I don’t have all these.
My doctor said I have RA and advised to continue the medicine (prescription attached) for 3 months and revisit after that.
Could you please take a look at the reports advise, do I really have RA, am I undergoing right treatment, please advise.
Thanks,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Doesn't seem like RA
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Even though some tests for RA are positive your symptoms don't coincide with that of RA. I feel your symptoms are more mechanical without features of autoimmune disease. This could be because of vitamin D deficiency or related to chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia.
I suggest take vitamin d if not taking already, physiotherapy and exercises should help you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello Dr XXXXXXX
Thanks for the response and your suggestion. I am planning to start Yoga and Swimming with immediate effect.
Kindly note I have used Uprise D3 6000 (weekly once for 12 weeks) and Supracal HD (daily 1 for 6 months) when I consulted a general physician with my preventive health checkup results. I guess these both tables are for Vitamin D improvement. But it did not cure for me (the pains the knee joints and tiredness are still there)
Do you suggest me to continue with current medication suggested by orthopedic doctor (HCQS 200. SAAZ 500 mg and other probiotics)?
If possible, could you please brief on the hronic fatigue/fibromyalgia.
Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
No
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
No, I suggest you discontinue this medication. Exercise of course will help. There are various medications available for fibromyalgia like Pregabalin however these can be started under supervision of a rheumatologist.
