Could It Simply Have Been Caused By Unconscious Stress?

Question: Hello again, Dr. Xhufka. I just received the results of my stool tests for the trouble or gastroenteritis I had last week. The doctor informed me that they did not find anything in the stool! No indication of anything. So I am totally mystified how I could have had loose stools with gurgling and cramping (which has now ended for a few days). What are your thoughts about this situation? Could it simply have been caused by unconscious stress? I have never had this situation before. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Actually minor trouble in intestine does not show up in stool examination.
When there is increased intestinal movement, abdominal muscles tighten up, that is why you felt abdominal tightness.
If you have similar episode again, get ultrasound whole abdomen done.
I hope your query is clear now.
Thanks and regards

Many thanks, Dr. Diwas. What might be the issue that would show up on an abdominal ultrasound? Is it possible the virus that was causing my colon cramp and gurgling and soft stools had disappeared by the time I did the sample?
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question, I understand your concern.
On ultrasound, any form of intestinal abnormality or mesenteric lymphadenopathy can be ruled out.
And yes infection may have resolved, by the time when sampling done.
I hope your query is clear now.
Thanks and regards
