Brief Answer:
Hormonal

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Get a urine pregnancy test done. Brown discharge can be seen due to acute hormonal changes which could be secondary to the birth control implant.

Contraceptive Implants usually release high doses of hormones which tend to alter the endometrial environment leading to changes in the glandular elements in the uterus leading to such discharge for a transient period of time.

Such spotting will stop after few days and may not repeat again. If it repeats again, it might be considered that the implant has not suited you.

Hope, I answered your query. Wish you good health.

Regards
