Could My Missed Period And Nausea Be Related To The Hemorrhagic Cyst On My Ovary?

Question: I am a 46 year old female. My last period was July 1st. I am currently about 3 weeks late. This is the first time ever that I have been this late. I am experiencing no pain but am a bit of nausea ( I do have have GERD) which historically has made me feel nausea. About 2 months ago I had a ct scan for an unrelated problem and a hemoragic cyst was found on my ovary. My gyno reviewed the results and said it was fine and no follow up was needed. Could my missing period be related to the cyst? What could cause me to miss my period this month?

Brief Answer:
Details below

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

At this age as the hormones secreted by ovaries naturally decline, period intervals usually become longer. This is normal. You need not worry. This delay in periods is not related to the hemorrhagic cyst seen earlier.

If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.

Regards
