Question:
I had a TVT placed 1 1/2 yrs ago. Last year I started having severe very low right side pain. I have went through several tests i.e. CT scan, checked for appendicitis, hernia. But they have not found anything. Could it be the TVT. I have some hip and lower back pain that I have attributed to my cleaning jobs but now I'm not so sure

Brief Answer:
Tension free vaginal tape

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Yes it could be due to TVT i.e., tension free vaginal tape. It is used for urinary incontinence in women and helps in controlling out flow of urine during stressful times like coughing, etc. There are many known side effects of the surgery including bleeding, pain in pelvic region, urinary retention, vaginal prolapse, etc. So it is known to cause pelvic pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
