Could The White Tissue Pieces With Blood In My Urine, Seen After Finishing A Course Of Metronidazole Vaginal Gel, Be A Side Effect Of The Medication?
Question: I was prescribe metronzale vaginal gel and finished my last course of medicine on friday I (during this I was also on my menstrual) for the last two days I have been seeing white tissue pieces with blood on it in my urine could this be a side effect of the medicine?
Brief Answer:
No
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
No, Metronidazole is an antibiotic. It does not cause any shedding from the uterus. It is needed for you to get examined to rule out any growth in the uterus. An ultrasound scan helps to rule out any growths in the uterus which can cause such discharge from the uterus.
Metronidazole most of times causes severe gastritis leading to vomiting but not bleeding or discharge from the uterus. It is an antibiotic used in treating vaginal infections.
Hope I answered your query. Wish you good health.
