Kindly, post all laboratory reports for interpretation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on Ask A Doctor forum.
The report posted by you is complete blood count (CBC) report.
I request you to post the entire CBC report and all other laboratory reports.
Serum electrophoresis is a common test done to look for myeloma.

I was told the serum test was not requested. What is the WBC range for myeloma? What causes the flucuation of my WBC? Are there other tests that check for it that the doctor may have requested? If it were myeloma wouldn't the red blood cell count as well as platelet count be low too?

Answered by Dr. Shailja Puri (44 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
The report suggests low WBC count only, not suggestive of myeloma.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
White blood count (WBC) is not a diagnostic test for multiple myeloma.
You have mentioned that WBC count is low in both instances.
The absolute counts are relevant than differential leucocyte count (DLC).
Platelets are within normal limits as per the report.
The reports posted by you do not suggest myeloma.
I suggest you to post the entire reports along with clinical history for interpretation.

Thanks and take care
Dr Shailja Puri
